C + A | Vines Botantical Garden | Atlanta Wedding Photographer

Being an Atlanta and Destination wedding photographer I meet a lot of people, like a lot.. like anywhere up to 300 in a weekend. It always fascinates me where couples find me and most of the time it was because I was photographing a wedding they were in, were at or a wedding they heard about. This is true with Chantal and Austin. Chantal was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed last Spring!

My mind is always boggled when the circle comes back full force. It’s so fun because it means I get to have another wedding experience the couple except this time they are the bride and groom. So when Chantal messaged me that she was in need of a wedding photographer (even before her venue… and date, haha, were secure) I immediately said YES!

How gorgeous is this ring?? Austin proposed to Chantal using his Grandmother’s engagement ring.. Cue allllll the tears and smiles. It is details like these that really make the couple and really show the love they have for each other.

But, oh my goodness, let’s not forget to talk about the location for their Atlanta Engagement session! As you may know, I always try to let my couples pick their own location so they can make it special and unique for their engagement session. This is, after all, usually the images they use to tell the world that they are getting married. Chantal had inspiration for what she want her shoot to be like, but didn’t really know a location.

Pulling out my long list of engagement session location ideas.. I sent her links and more links to places I had photographed before and some where I hadn’t, but really really wanted to. The stars aligned and they picked a location where I hadn’t photographed yet.

It is always such an adventure photographing in a new place for me and for the couple. We really get a chance to hang out without me escorting them from one location to the next with an agenda. It really is a chance for us all to walk around, take some time, chat and watch the light.

Like this location here!! This was a total surprise to us all. Chantal and I both had done some google researching on the location and loved the bridge and the dock, but what the research failed to mention was this Japanese garden that was so green and so lush and really looked like we were in a Jurassic period.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. An engagement session is such a great way for you and your photographer to bond before the wedding and not to mention a way to get your significant other (who usually doesn’t want to have photos taken) a way to loosen up. It is also a way for me to prove that having your photos taken isn’t as painful as it seems ;-)
