When Ann-Hamilton emailed me and said she had found the perfect wedding day first look location I was all ears. You all know by now that I am PRO the first look (HERE are reasons why). She said she had found a castle, yes castle, around the corner from the venue. Excuse me! What did you just say?? A castle in the middle of Decatur, tell me more. She sent me the google listing and thought there was no way we would get access to this place.. but….. WE DID!
In retrospect, I’m not sure why I was so surprised. I mean, we did part of their engagement session at Grindhouse in Decatur so naturally Ann-Hamilton would have found another amazing location for her wedding photos!

“We met the way everyone meets in this day and age - on a dating app. The only unusual part is that we were living in different cities at the time, and decided to just be friends instead of dating. It was almost a year before we decided to give dating a try - I think he'd been holding out hope that I would change my mind. After a few months dating long distance, he moved to Atlanta, and somehow the whole thing worked out. When he decided to propose, I was none the wiser. He talked to my parents and began ring shopping and I didn't have a clue. But he was so excited about proposing that he told all of our friends about it. Someone accidentally let it slip to me, so I started paying attention to the signs. He proposed on my birthday, And wouldn't you know it, I just so happened to get a manicure the day before ;) After a morning at the zoo with friends and lunch at home together, we were getting ready to go out for a birthday dinner, and he said he heard something at the front door, and asked me to check. I opened the door to find my parents in the drive way - he'd invited them to town to "surprise me for my birthday". My mom had her phone in her hand as she gave me a hug, and I saw the camera app was open. I turned back to Nick, who handed me the sweetest birthday card, and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.” -Ann-Hamilton

Looking for another way to end your wedding other than sparklers, confetti, or bubbles? How about a conga line! It really is a great way to include all your guests in your exit with out having to leave the actual reception space. Legit, so much fun!
